International Education Week Schedule

November 12-17, 2023

International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.

Sunday - November 12

Monday - November 13

Global Voices: International Student Stories

Presenter: Butte College International F-1 Visa Students
Description: An opportunity for students, staff, faculty to come together to listen to the captivating and personal narratives of some of our international student community. Discover the unique journeys, challenges, and triumphs of these incredible students as they share their stories.

We will explore topics such as: global learning styles, overcoming time zone hurdles, currency exchange stresses and much more. Description: Do you know Okinawa prefecture? Okinawa is a part of Japan with beautiful beaches, wonderful nature and rare creatures. Join international student Raimu in learning about Okinawa. She will be presenting her award winning CMST 12 persuasive speech.

Title: International Club Meeting - New Members Welcome!

Description: Find out what the club is all about!  A Friendsgiving event! We will share friendship and food in the spirit of the upcoming winter holidays. Pizza, dessert, and drinks will be provided. Members are welcome but not required to bring something to share to eat, especially if it is a food you enjoy during the holidays.
